Detailed Information

About A-Level Psychology

01

About the A-Level Psychology Exam

A-Level Psychology is a social science exam covering cognitive psychology, social psychology, developmental psychology, research methods, biological psychology and psychological disorders. In the CIE syllabus, it is assessed as four papers (core psychology, research methods and elective topics); in AQA, as three papers. Research methods (experiments, observations, correlations, case studies) are assessed in every paper.

02

The Path to A* in A-Level Psychology

In A-Level Psychology, knowing key studies (Milgram, Asch, Bandura, Ainsworth, etc.) in detail and critically evaluating them is of critical importance. Each study's aim, method, findings, conclusions and evaluation (strengths/weaknesses) are frequently tested. TestPrep Psychology tutors teach structured response templates aligned with AO1 (knowledge), AO2 (application) and AO3 (evaluation) criteria. Ethical evaluation and statistical analysis skills in research methods are practiced regularly.
