"When I decided to get private tutoring for the GRE, my biggest concern was finding a true expert. Fortunately, I connected with genuinely experienced GRE tutors. I gained completely new perspectives on the Verbal section. I couldn't have progressed this quickly on my own. Highly recommend."

Ask for detailsThe GRE (Graduate Record Examinations) is a standardized test administered by ETS, used for admissions to graduate, doctoral and some MBA programs worldwide. The shorter format takes approximately 2 hours and consists of Verbal Reasoning (130-170), Quantitative Reasoning (130-170) and Analytical Writing (0-6) sections.
GRE scores are accepted across a wide range of academic fields including engineering, natural sciences, social sciences, humanities and business programs. The world's most prestigious universities — Stanford, MIT, Harvard, Princeton, Berkeley and Columbia — all evaluate GRE scores. Some MBA programs also accept GRE scores as an alternative to the GMAT.
TestPrep's GRE program focuses particularly on developing vocabulary and reading comprehension skills for the Verbal Reasoning section. While international students are often strong in the Quant section, the Verbal section presents unique challenges that require strategic balancing. Our tutors have scored 325+ on the GRE and create personalized study plans that optimize the Verbal/Quant balance for each student.

The GRE (Graduate Record Examinations) is administered by ETS for Master's and PhD applications. It is widely accepted by STEM, social science, business, and even some law programs. The new short format (2023+) runs about 2 hours.
Verbal Reasoning 130-170, Quantitative Reasoning 130-170, Analytical Writing 0-6. Top STEM PhDs expect Quant 165+; top business/social science programs expect Verbal 160+. AWA 4.0+ is competitive.
1 hour 58 minutes total: AWA 30 min (1 task), 2 Verbal sections (47 min combined), 2 Quant sections (47 min combined). Trimmed from the old 4-hour format with the experimental section removed.
GRE is nearly the standard for non-MBA programs. MBA programs accept both, but B-school adcoms know the GMAT better. Choose GRE for general academia and GMAT only for B-school.
